MF DIGITAL'S ADVANCED DIRECTOR EC
OFFICE DUPLICATION PUBLISHER OFFERS INTELLIGENT SPINDLE SELECTION TO ALTERNATE COPYING BETWEEN CD AND DVD MEDIA

January 24, 2005 - East Farmingdale, NY - Enhancing the efficiency of its networked based CD / DVD publishing systems; MF Digital has added an intelligent Spindle Select capability to all Director Office DVD / CD duplication production equipment. Previously only available on Director EC PRO, this new feature allows the Director Office Publisher to automatically pick and burn the appropriate media, either a DVD or CD, based upon the image selected to be burned. The intelligent Spindle Select feature has been included in all Director EC Office models shipping since January 1, 2005.

The new media selection capability makes the Director EC an efficient operator for those coordinating simultaneous projects of varying content, according to Greg Morris, MF Digital West Coast Sales Manager. "The increased popularity of the DVD-R (combo) drives has brought the need to seamlessly separate media in our automated systems. With our duplication publishing systems being an embedded process of a bigger operation, the need to identify between CD-R and DVD-R media is extremely important. Companies can now optimize the media type for the disc publishing job being submitted." he reports.

MF Digital's Director EC product line includes a full offering of CD Duplication Production Equipment and DVD Duplication Publishing Systems. The Director EC Office produces CD or DVD copies upon receiving local or remote burning requests. With the new intelligent Spindle Select enhancement, the system can now identify which media is to be burned based upon the type of image submitted. The intelligent Spindle Select feature eliminates the need to have a person manually swap media types. The system will choose the most appropriate spindle and disc to reproduce onto from the image submitted. Efficiency is derived from the system’s automation and through its intelligent identification of the applicable media. The Director EC systems also feature automatic editing of print jobs, unlimited job queuing, and production burning of CD / DVD duplication or unique one off publishing for CD / DVD distribution.
